If you want to start a blog or write a book about a topic you’re passionate about but don’t have all the answers it’s definitely okay to write about it. You learn as you write (hence the name of the blog) and you share as you go.
No one starts off as an expert so do your research.
I created this blog because I love reading and writing fiction. I’m not an expert but I did know some basic things about writing I could share. Then I researched the hidden parts I didn’t know and it makes my writing more authentic.
You can do this too.
You do have something to share
Whether it’s your desire, passion, little experience or research information you can share it with people interested in your topic or niche.
Don’t be afraid to share what you know because you think you don’t know enough. You can always share a link where readers can find more information but you can still share your passion and all that you know to them first.
You don’t have to be an expert
People connect with people like them so saying you’re new to something won’t be an immediate turnoff. This blog is about writing fiction but I haven’t published my novel yet (coming soon). I realized when I started this blog that I don’t have to be published to share my passion or any information that I knew.
Being a beginner makes you relatable. You can be a leader to other beginners by showing your progress on your blog. You can ask questions and try to find the answers for your followers.
The more you write the more you learn
You can learn as you write about your topic. Take it one step at a time and start small with the basic stuff you know just from your own personal reading and research. Write what you learnt and share your desire to learn more.
Keep reading and sharing.
You do know something
Dig deeper. Think about what information you would like to be taught if you were in your readers’ shoes. Or think about what lessons you wish someone would have taught you.
Then bring that information to them.
Don’t hold yourself back
Not knowing everything is not an excuse not to work. If you don’t know about a topic find the information and share it. Keep working and keep learning.
It’s okay to write about a topic if you’re still learning. I am too. We all have to work hard and help everyone else out when we can. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from the experts or the more experienced people in your field.
Good luck on your writing journey
