The Early Bird Special

I’ve always hated waking up early. My eyes were heavy and burning, I couldn’t move my head and the tiniest noise annoyed me. Besides what could I do in the morning that I couldn’t do in the afternoon when I woke up?

Then I realized how much time I wasted…

One day I thought about all the errands, chores, and work I could have done if I woke up earlier. There was hardly any time left to do all the things I wanted to do.

The day goes so much faster when you sleep in.

I am not a morning person whatsoever but I do love getting things done and that’s the main reason I decided to wake up early.

8 am or earlier

That’s a good time for me to wake up. I don’t know what’s your favorite time to wake up in the morning but around 8am is fine with me.

The early bird gets the warm (had to through that cliché in there)

There are some exceptions like on the weekend and I want to sleep in until 11am or so I do give myself a break. (yes, I do consider waking up early work)

How it can benefit you

You’ll have more time and time is what you need.

You won’t feel as much pressure to get things done fast because you’ll have more time to do them.

You’ll have more of your day before the sun goes down.

Things get done!

Why I recommend it

Well, even though it’s hard to get up in the morning and I sometimes hit my cat joey when I’m stretching across the bed it’s worth it( he scratches me back though so it’s okay). I have so much time to do the things I have to do or just have some fun and enjoy my day that it’s not a bad deal.

I’m not a morning person but I know when I have to bend a little to reap the rewards. I also have much more time to write and as writers who wouldn’t need that?

Try it out

Tomorrow morning wake up two hours earlier than you usually do and write. You can do it from your bed and you can go back to sleep afterwards if you desperately need to but wake up early and exercise your brain. You’d be surprised by your awakening creativity.

I hope this is helpful and thanks for reading.

What is your morning routine that works for you? Do you hate it? Love it? Want to throw your shoe at the alarm clock?
